Verify a provenance record

Paste a provenance hash or a VYNT record ID. The registry is publicly readable, so verification requires no account and reveals no private data.

How verification works

  • 1. VYNT hashes content bytes and canonical metadata JSON with SHA-256 at index time.
  • 2. Those digests are combined with the timestamp and source into a provenance hash.
  • 3. The record is stored in a publicly readable registry — hashes only, no content.
  • 4. Anyone can look up a hash and see whether it matches, differs, or is unknown.

A verified result confirms hash equivalence. It is not a claim about accuracy, ownership or licensing of the underlying content.
